so that morning, once we were fresh we moved on to the dinner area, for the ''choti hazari'' (a short meeting). now the view was clear... as i had imagined, mountains everywhere, greenary, very peaceful only when we were quiet or else we 36 were enough to make a mayhem over there... could hear the divine water flow... it was cold...
that morning, CC divided us into two groups... finally... according to them these groups were only for Trekking purpose however there was discrimination all the time on the basis of the two gangs that had been formed... hehe!! ;)
fortunately, in my group there was Harshi, Mayank, Anupam, Diya, Shardooli and NO SHAGUN!! somehow we escaped her for once... and then the rest of the people of which i remember Sanya, Rachit, Rishika, Sanya, Govind, Kartikey, Ashray, Rohan, Shivani, Bharat, Ishan, Arshya, and many more, tatal of 18... ta-da!! Our instructors were, Kuber sir, Naveen Sir and Suman ma'am! they took us to the ''beach'' area... few sat on the rocks and many on the tree trunk... we were given markers and a chart paper. we were asked to write everything about what we expect from Youreka! and meanwhile think of some name for our gang... i took the initiative to write first, while Kartikey and govind were thinking and making up stupid names... i wrote '' i wanna make good friends, have loads of funn... and take back good memories! :) ''
SO finally our group's name was ''Pathar uthaaoo, Todoo" (pick a stone and break it) lol... even i laughed when i heard of it, however it has a special explaination to it... that, 'whenever there'll be a problem as big as a rock or stone we'll break it and solve it, you see we are very strong!' so we were called the ''todooos'' hahaha! i loved it... i seriously do.. i'll miss the way naveen sir always shouted for us ''oyee TODOOSSS jaldi aaoo'' (hey, todoos, come fast!) now this will really bring tears to my eyes... (freak no matter how much homesick i was, i'm gonna miss it! freak!!) i loved being called a todoo! :) morover, after that our instructors asked us to make a circle.. we found out that or instructors were really fond of shapes, for later on after the circle they asked us to make a square... when we made a shape somewhat like square, we were aksed to introduce ourselves by telling something that no one knew about you.. so i said ''hi, i'm arushi and i'm learning belly-dancing''.. everyone was like ''wow''- i knew that would impress anyone!! hahaha...
anyway, moving on, we were asked to change into our shorts and floaters, precisely anything but shoes, for our activity of the day RAFTING!!!... and move on to have breakfast... i changed into shorts, tee, combed my hair (not actually.. even though i had bought a new comb, i must have used it like thrice, nothing more than that, somehow i wasnt that keen on taking care of my hair...i simply hate them when they go oily, so i start caring less! :P )
i'd massage the sunscreen all over my body, even though it came out to be useless... we trekked all the way up to the road.. took us 20 minutes. it was tiring and we ran out of breath... the two groups were asked to board the mini truck alloted to them.. just like cattle is tranferred from one place to the other standing in the back of the truck, our condition was something like that only. the only difference was that we were 18 and falling on each other, the ride didnt turn out to be that smooth and hence i had my first bruise over there... hahaha!! anyway, we werent less than a cattle... all the instructors always regarded us as ''guys'', 'guys do this', 'guys come here'.,' guys lets go'... for all those who dont know, in hindi you call a cow - guy! hahaha!
the rafting was hosted by Aquaterra poeple, about 5-6 km from the camp site... on the way a natural water fall came (or in mayank's language majnu's desperation), which became like a game, everytime we passed it, we had to escape from it.. hehe. on the way the "inme'' camp also came. i have heard its the camp by the reliance company...
anyway, at the rafting venue, we were further divided into grups of 6... mine included, rishika, rachit, sanya, arshya, harshita and me! our rafting guide was Pankaj... he told us about various commands like -forward paddle, back paddle, jump in, stop and much more... there was a kayak as well which ofcourse the pro did, and also came with us as though he was the life guard like at swimming pools for he could help the one whose drowning... he even gave a separate list of instructions...
we started rafting after 45 minutes and... it was fun.. it was a 6km strtech we rafted on... there were 1-2 grade rapids nothing dangerous... water level was also very low. the rocks in the river were also visible and the flow of the water was comparatively slow... we often bumped into other rafts and had the water fight with them... after 4 km of rafting a shore came where the guides would stop the rafts and we could take a dip in the freezing water... and there was also a bridge over there that lead to the inme camp.. there many of us shouted'' inme sucks, youreka! rocks'' fun it was... after about 20 minutes of swimming,lol.. we moved on... and my first experience of rafting was decent... decent because i have heard that rafting is dangerous, people fall and it was nothing like that... when i asked the guide that, arent there any tricky rapids, he said that if we come individually and not with any institution they take us to better rapids... nevermind...all this ended up having our sun-screen so worthless... i was a lil tanned...
oh forgot to mention... so whenever we went out as ''todoos'', Naveen sir would always make us shout out loud our slogan. he would say ''pathar uthaaoo'' and the18 of us would shout ''tod-dooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!''... awesome... and while rafting, pankaj would say ''jimmie jimmie jimmie'' and the 6 of us would shout ''oye oye oyyee!!!!!'' and there was another one as well, where we would shout '' yo babay, yo babay, yo baby, yoooooooooooooooooo'' and hoot with our paddle in the air toucking the sky! :) so much of funn...
Navenn sir asked us, not to change but simply have lunch and after that we would go to this pond for swimming... once back at the camp we were first served with squash... they always did take care that we are hydrated all the time.. so before we left for any activity we would always have 2 glasses of water... so the squash was part of the deal.. our lunch was nice... we took a lil nap, just a mere rest and the the todoos, shouting our best slogan, trekked about 2-3km to the pond... it was tiring... before we trekked down to the pond, we were made to sit on the ground and were given instructions.. about mountain manners...
1.walk in line, it is sophisticated, looks disciplined plus kills less vegetation. Fact: centimetre square of FERTILE land contains more organisms than the population of the world
2.greet the locals
3.talk in low voice, say no to noise pollution
the trek towards the pond was very dangerous.. we had to climb down a hill, which had about 50 cm wide path, full of stones, awfully steep and there were nettle leaves all over the place.., felt like was in roadies, lol... and then further there were stones and big rocks to climb... i even slipped on one and thus, got my second injury... shoot!!
the pond was seriously small... had rocks underneath that gave a bruise to harshita... i dived into that dirty, full of tadpoles water from a rock of good height like 6 times.. soo much of funn and as usual the water was chilling... harshi, chickened out when it came to jump into the water... anupam was so stupid that he dived in without taking off his glasses, kuber sir searched for them and was lucky enough to find them...naveen and kuber sir would splash water onto us, and we would shiver out of cold when we would be almost dry... after spending like and hour or so we started moving back... at the camp, we rested, changed into dry clothes...
that evening we were taken to the beach.. there we were intoduced with ''cool book''. it is a journal sort... have puzzles, space for us to write the summary about, how we'd spend the day... that was the ''solo time'' actually.. which majority of people didnt like, please exclude me from it... i loved my solo time... you were asked to find a space, anywhere.. near water, far from the river, on the rock, on the sand, wherever, however 10ft away from the nearby person... i loved writing into my cool book and enjoyed the beauty around... that was the only place where i can actually agree on spending the rst of my life!... lol... after the solo time was over, we played games, based on team work..
that evening we were further treated with soup that had bread crums... lol.. that evening was however a lilttle boring, somehow...
the notice board that night read ''9pm bonfire''... it was okay... people were still in groups.. we got to hear ghost stories... hahahaha i even got scared... that night there was a lil trouble with shagun's bed.. so the instructors came to see it... while they were solving the whole thing, i sneaked out thinking that i would tell harshi to keep her tent open and i would sneak in late... ta-da...i realise that the instructors in my tent didnt realise that i had sneaked out, so i stayed there, anyway... what a luck... i slept with harshi and it wasnt that uncomfortable...we somehow managed... i was relieved to be with someone i knew, i felt homesick only at night... i hate darkness... makes me feel insecure inside out!!
and ta-da... that was my second day... still feeling that it wasnt that great an idea to have come here with harshi. either i should have come with my own group or simply should'nt have come...
i closed my eyes that night, saying good night to diya, chandni and harshita thinking only 6 more days to go... somehow, i'll survive...
************
so today, i felt much better... and guess what? my dear lil beshtie, Aaki gave me a surprise.. not literally a one, but i was surprised, lol... she called me and told me that she'll be near my place with her cousin and hence wanted to visit me... and i was like ''ache kaam mein kis baat kii derii''... we didnt have that good time, you know having serious talk and all, but had funn.. it was pure bliss to have met her after soo long!!!
in the eve saloni and me went to amar colony... all through the camp i missed the chaat papadii... it is like to die for, mannn... so we had that... we went and then sat in CCD... we were broke and ordered the least expensive , choco chip muffin... we shared the lil cake and sat there for like 45 minutes... i told her all about the camp.. and in return i was enlightened by all that i missed in past 8 days...
even though sherlyn's outta station i went at her place, her father was home... i asked uncle about how she was doing and about her result for she gave all india board and not cbse... i was told that her result will be the same day as mine... plus i even got to talk to her on phone.. she's doing fine.. haveing a lil tiff with her mum...she'll be back on 27th... and i'm excited to meet her...
today my devils won and defeated the mumbai indians... and anyway, how does it matter whether we lose or win, we're already qualified for the semi-finals... way to go, Delhi DareDevils! mwaahhh...
i came to know that my chopra partner, aka, shefali aka shefu got a tatoo done... ohh, even i want one.. well i will, soon... soon as in, probably another 3-4 years, lol... but i will... *nmw* :P
